The Senate Agency Senator Paulo Paim (PT-RS) recorded in the Plenary's tribune the manifesto he received from the Association of Unemployed Workers of the Rio Grande Naval Hub. The text requests that the construction contracts for the P75 and P77 platforms for Petrobras be maintained. They hope this will recover the thousands of jobs lost after the disclosure of the scandals uncovered by Operation Lava Jato.

Paulo Paim recalled that the municipality of Rio Grande, with the opening of the Naval Hub, was a center of prosperity. According to him, there were jobs and income for everyone, and the city attracted people from other parts of the country.

Today, according to Paim, the situation is bleak. Around 80 people have lost their jobs, and the city is going through the worst economic and social crisis in its history.

Paim said that if nothing is done, the survival of the municipality and even the region is at risk.

— The companies involved in the scandals of this operation are even using this reason to avoid making payments to their suppliers, workers, and outsourced companies that represent 80% of the workforce at the Naval Hub. As a result, small and medium-sized businesses are unable to meet their labor obligations. So one doesn't pay the other, and the worker is the one who suffers because they receive nothing, and the companies declare bankruptcy.
