As soon as he hands over the reins of the Ministry of Health to Arthur Chioro, in a ceremony scheduled for this morning, Padilha is expected to assume a position in the leadership of the PT (Workers' Party) in São Paulo; the intention is to begin a campaign tour of the state without being accused of premature campaigning; the first ceremony presided over by the new president of the State Court of Justice, Judge José Renato Nalini, will also include the participation of the PSDB (Brazilian Social Democracy Party) governor Geraldo Alckmin.
247 - In his first official engagement as the PT's pre-candidate in the race for the Palácio dos Bandeirantes (São Paulo state government headquarters), Alexandre Padilha participates in the first ceremony presided over by the new president of the State Court of Justice, Judge José Renato Nalini.
The event is expected to be attended by the governor, Geraldo Alckmin, who is running for re-election.
Padilha plans to tour the interior of São Paulo state, starting in Igarapava on February 7th. In Ribeirão Preto, an event with PT (Workers' Party) activists and former president Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva will officially launch his candidacy.
