A bill submitted to the City Council, to be considered in record time during a self-convened session, allows for the donation, exchange, or sale of public areas; a portion (26,73%) will be allocated to entities such as the Municipal Court of Accounts and the Public Prosecutor's Office; nearly 150 square meters of land are intended for sale by Mayor Paulo Garcia, many of them overvalued in Park Lozandes and Setor Bueno; councilman Elias Vaz (PSB) criticizes: "The city government cannot squander public assets."
Goiás247_ A bill submitted by the city government, which proposes the declassification of nearly 209 square meters of public land distributed across various areas of the city, including upscale neighborhoods like Bueno and Jardim Goiás, is scheduled for consideration next week in self-convened sessions of the City Council. The goal of this declassification is to allow for the donation, exchange, or sale of the land.
The forecast is that a small portion (26,73%) will be donated to entities such as the Municipal Court of Accounts and the Public Prosecutor's Office. Nearly 150 square meters are areas that the city hall intends to sell. A similar project was...
The project encompasses land adjacent to gated communities and the Goiânia racetrack. One area alone reaches almost 36 square meters in that same region. Furthermore, there are plots of land that the city hall wants to reclassify in the Setor Universitário, Brisas do Cerrado, Park Lozandes, Jardim Colorado Sul, Moinho dos Ventos, and Residencial Humaitá neighborhoods. “These are all highly valued areas. The city hall cannot squander public assets, dispose of public areas, and then have nowhere to build schools, health units, or administrative headquarters,” he emphasizes.
Vaz also criticizes the fact that the City Hall only sent the project now, at the end of the legislative period. "Once again, the city hall is sending a controversial project at the last minute, without the willingness to act transparently and discuss the project with the public," the councilman points out.
The project
208.421,30 thousand square meters of areas to be repurposed;
The city hall intends to donate 26,73% of the total, or 55.724,06 square meters, to entities such as the Court of Auditors and the Public Prosecutor's Office;
149.697,24 square meters in areas that the city hall intends to sell;
83% of the areas slated for sale are located in Park Lozandes, the Paço Municipal region, gated communities, and the Goiânia racetrack.
