Authorities collect abandoned vehicles.
The municipal superintendencies of Urban Coexistence Control (SMCCU) and Transportation and Traffic (SMTT) collected approximately 20 vehicle carcasses parked on the streets of Maceió; other operations are being planned.
Alagoas247 - A joint operation by the municipal superintendencies of Urban Coexistence Control (SMCCU) and Transportation and Traffic (SMTT), carried out this week, resulted in the removal of approximately 20 vehicle carcasses that were illegally placed on the public sidewalk. The objective was to facilitate pedestrian passage and prevent accidents.
The car parts belonged to a store located on Avenida Durval de Góes Monteiro, in the Tabuleiro do Martins neighborhood, in the upper part of the city. The establishment had already been notified by SMCCU (Municipal Secretariat of Culture and Urban Development), but failed to comply with the agency's requirements. Therefore, inspectors removed the vehicles using a crane and a truck.
The SMCCU Inspection Department reported that the vehicles were abandoned, obstructing a public area in front of the commercial establishment and near a bus stop. Furthermore, the vehicle carcasses posed a risk to the public due to the accumulation of trash and rust.
The seized cars were taken to the City Hall's impound lot in Clima Bom. According to SMTT (Municipal Superintendence of Transport and Traffic), operations of this kind have already been carried out, and others are being planned, so that the agency can continue collecting abandoned vehicles from the streets of the capital.
