Pernambuco 247 - Senator Fernando Bezerra Coelho (PSB-PE) has once again had his name mentioned as one of those involved in the scheme of raising irregular funds for election campaigns. This time, FBC appears as one of those investigated by Operation Turbulence, launched by the Federal Police this Tuesday (21) and which investigates, among other cases, the illicit collection of funds for the reelection campaign of Eduardo Campos (PSB) to the government of Pernambuco in 2010 and to the Presidency of the Republic in 2014. FBC is the father of the current Minister of Mines and Energy, Fernando Filho (PSB-PE).

"What we have in our investigation, through data cross-referenced with the STF (Supreme Federal Court), is that Fernando Bezerra Coelho was the person in charge of collecting the amounts of the percentage due for Eduardo Campos' campaign," stated Delegate Andrea Pinho in a press conference at the Federal Police Superintendency in Pernambuco.

The senator's name had already appeared during the plea bargain testimony of former Petrobras director Paulo Roberto Costa. Costa stated to the court that FBC had received R$ 20 million intended for Campos' reelection campaign in 2010. At the time, FBC denied the accusations and stated that he did not work in the coordination of the campaign that re-elected Campos to the Palácio do Campo das Princesas (Governor's Palace).
