School bus with 70 students overturns in the countryside.
A bus carrying approximately 70 students from the Nossa Senhora da Conceição State School and the Barros Paes Municipal School overturned while traveling through the rural area of the municipality of Craíbas, in the Agreste region of Alagoas; the vehicle was overloaded; six ambulances and two motorcycles from the SAMU (Mobile Emergency Care Service) were dispatched to assist the victims, in addition to two fire department vehicles.

The accident occurred on Monday morning (4). The vehicle was carrying more passengers than its capacity allowed.
According to information from the Communications Office of the Mobile Emergency Care Service (Samu), it was necessary to deploy six ambulances and two Samu motorcycles to assist the victims.
The Fire Department has already mobilized two vehicles from Arapiraca to provide support and rescue for the injured.
The mayor of Craíbas, Ediel Barbosa, was at the scene of the accident and stated that he is closely monitoring the rescue and care provided to the injured students.
"I am closely monitoring the situation and we are providing all necessary support, and the Education and Health departments are also following this unfortunate event," he said.
According to information from Radio GazetaSome of the injured were taken to the Agreste Emergency Unit (UEA), and the others were taken to the Frei Damião Maternity Home in Craíbas.
The UEA press office released the names and health status of the four victims treated at the unit. They are: Iane Marcela Ferreira Barbosa, 15 years old; Carla Milane Lima, 20 years old; her companion Maria do Carmo da Silva, 70 years old; and Maria Clara Ferreira da Silva, 13 years old.
According to the press office, all suffered minor injuries and abrasions, but have already been released. Only Maria Clara Ferreira remains under observation and is expected to be discharged early this afternoon.

The accident reportedly occurred in the Lagoa do Mel district, when the bus was traveling on a road where a barrier had collapsed. The bus overturned and fell into a ravine.
