Hotel occupancy increases during this peak season.
Although the talk in Brazil is all about the economic crisis, Fortaleza's hotel industry is celebrating another positive period. The occupancy rate in July was around 75,5%. This figure surpasses that recorded in the same period last year, when the rate was 73,7%.
Fortaleza's hotel network achieved an occupancy rate of 75,5% during this peak season in July. This figure surpasses that recorded during the same period last year, when the rate was 73,7%.
The Ceará State Tourism Secretariat (Setur) credits the positive results this peak season to the promotional work that has been carried out. This year, Ceará has already participated in several important trade fairs in the sector, such as ITB in Germany, considered one of the largest in the industry worldwide. For the second half of the year, Ceará is expected to participate in major events in southeastern Brazil, Europe, and South America.
The next trade fair that Ceará will be present at is the 19th National Meeting of Travel Agencies, better known as the Avirrp Fair (Association of Travel Agencies of Ribeirão Preto and Region). The event will take place on August 14th and 15th in Ribeirão Preto (SP), and will have around 100 exhibitors.
The state will have the support of 15 hoteliers, who will sell directly to tour operators. The Ceará stand will be approximately 70 m² and will showcase Ceará's beaches, mountains, and the Cariri region. The expectation is to further increase the number of visitors from the state of São Paulo, which leads the ranking of tourists coming to Ceará.
