Ceará247 - Mayor Roberto Cláudio (PDT) visited, on the morning of this Wednesday (4), the works of the viaduct and footbridge of the new bus corridor on Av. Aguanambi. On site, he commented on the importance of the interventions, which will bring direct improvements to residents and drivers who pass through the region.

“The schedule is for us to open the pedestrian overpass, already with the elevator, and the viaduct with car traffic, with two lanes going and two coming back, in March. The other stages, which consist of the Aguanambi avenue itself, will be delivered in December. We will have a station in the central median, new paving, sidewalks, bus and bicycle lanes. The entire Aguanambi avenue from this stretch to Domingo Olímpio will be modified,” stated the Mayor.

The project is configured as the most important access corridor to the city center, on the east side (Aguanambi/BR-116), having a strategic function, as it will quickly connect the region to the Messejana Terminal. Furthermore, it will also allow for new densification and occupation along the avenue, requalifying it.

The Municipal Infrastructure Secretary, Manuela Nogueira, highlighted the benefits resulting from the actions. “This is our main entrance corridor to the capital. The urbanization will bring improvements in various areas, from transportation to tourism. Those arriving will immediately see the city we are transforming day by day. In addition, we will promote the urbanization of squares, one under the viaduct and another in front of the O Povo newspaper building,” she said.

This activity is part of the creation of an express bus corridor to connect the Messejana terminal to the city center, relieving traffic congestion and bringing urban improvements to the residents of Fortaleza. The entire project is budgeted at approximately R$ 90 million, to be applied to urbanization, landscaping, drainage, cycle path network, BRT stations, viaduct, pedestrian bridge and other road interventions.
