247 - The OAB-GO will launch this Wednesday (20), at 17 pm, during the Sectional Council session, the Clean Elections Movement. Coordinated this time by councilor Flávio Buonaduce Borges, the project proposes the launch of a booklet containing the main points on electoral legislation and will offer two communication channels to guide voters on their rights and register complaints about possible irregularities committed by candidates.

By calling 0800-642-2210, voters can ask basic questions or anonymously report alleged illegal actions by candidates throughout the state. The OAB-GO (Brazilian Bar Association - Goiás chapter) will receive the report and forward it to the appropriate authorities, such as the Federal Police, the Regional Electoral Court (TRE), and the Public Prosecutor's Office. A website will also be available soon that will serve as a second communication channel for voters. The campaign booklet is expected to be released in September.

According to the president of the OAB-GO (Brazilian Bar Association of Goiás), Henrique Tibúrcio, the Clean Elections project aims to strengthen democracy. "This movement is yet another contribution from the OAB-GO to the democratic rule of law, to democracy. We often see a lack of trust from citizens in the face of so many political scandals, but we need to awaken in them the awareness that they are the owners of the process. If society unites, change will happen," he emphasized.

Flávio Borges emphasizes the importance of raising citizen awareness. "The voter is the protagonist of the elections, and we want them to know the power of their vote, in addition to making the population aware of their rights and clarifying which behaviors are considered illegal."
