Brazilian Bar Association (OAB) applauds injunction against increase in public transportation fares.

“The quality of transportation does not justify the fare increase; furthermore, the criteria for determining the fare value still need to be clarified for the public,” states the president of the Goiás branch, Henrique Tibúrcio; the organization has resumed visits to the terminals to verify if the conditions remain the same as in the last report, when the situation was chaotic and disrespectful.

Brazilian Bar Association (OAB) applauds injunction against increase in public transportation fares.

Goiás247_ For the OAB-GO, the suspension of the R$ 3,00 fare for public transport in the Metropolitan Region of Goiânia is reasonable and fair to the citizens of Goiás. The decision was made by Judge Fernando de Mello Xavier, of the 1st State Public Court of Goiânia, on Monday afternoon (10).

"The quality of transportation does not justify the fare increase; furthermore, the criteria for determining the fare still need to be clarified for the public," states the president of the local branch, Henrique Tibúrcio.

The OAB-GO (Brazilian Bar Association of Goiás) has resumed visits to bus terminals in the Goiânia Metropolitan Region to verify if the conditions remain the same as in the last report issued by the organization in October 2012, when the situation was chaotic and showed a lack of respect for the population.

“The Order is on the side of the citizen, and the service provided by the concessionary companies has not met expectations for years, and this needs to change. This is a public order problem, not just a problem for those who use the public transportation system,” concludes Tibúrcio.
