PTB accepts criteria and not the imposition of candidacies, says Demóstenes.

Pre-candidate for senator, prosecutor Demóstenes Torres (PTB), argued this Tuesday, the 26th, that the candidate for senator in the second spot on the government's ticket must be the preferred candidate of the base, which should be consulted; "There is no such thing as an imposed choice. The PTB defends criteria so that no one is hurt. Whatever the criteria, if they are accepted and respected, whoever loses will support whoever wins, and whoever wins will be legitimized to compete. I think that's what should happen."

Goiás 247 - Pre-candidate for senator, prosecutor Demóstenes Torres (PTB), argued this Tuesday, the 26th, that the candidate for senator in the second spot on the government ticket must be the preferred candidate of the base, which should be consulted.

"There's no such thing as an imposed choice. The PTB defends criteria so that no one is hurt. Whatever the criteria, as long as they are accepted and respected, whoever loses will support whoever wins, and whoever wins will be legitimately entitled to compete. I think that's what should happen," he emphasized.

The PTB member stated that he will not comment on Senator Lúcia Vânia's position, who announced that she will not participate in events where he is present nor will she accept him on the ticket. "The only thing I'm doing is attending events and talking to mayors, councilors, state and federal deputies. I'm doing what is expected. I cannot comment on her behavior in any way. If she has taken this position, let her carry it forward," he said.

Demosthenes believes that, regardless of what happens, the base will remain united. "I'm with the base and I won't budge. The PTB has already taken a stand; we expect the criteria to be established. The PTB accepts criteria, it just doesn't accept imposition," he concluded.
