"The PSDB has fallen into the common pit," says a PSDB congressman.

“The PSDB has fallen into the common pit,” says PSDB congressman Daniel Coelho (PSDB-PE); at only 39 years old, Coelho is one of the young PSDB leaders and criticizes the PSDB's selectivity in the face of corruption, "condemning that of Dilma, Lula and the PT, but accepting that of Temer"; the Pernambuco parliamentarian assumes that Alckmin should run for president for the PSDB: "I think Doria is not prepared, he doesn't have the experience yet. He needs to go further."

Pernambuco 247 - Daniel Coelho is one of the "black heads" of the PSDB. The expression refers to young parliamentarians who demand new attitudes from the party leadership regarding politics and the country. His main focus, as well as that of his young PSDB colleagues, is the defense of an independent stance from the Michel Temer government.

In an interview with the website Congresso em Foco, he says that all political parties are "destroyed." He also states that the PSDB has fallen into the "common pit" by adopting a selective position regarding corruption, condemning that of Dilma, Lula, and the PT, but accepting that of Temer. He criticizes the proposed pension reform. He defends a liberal agenda, but with a commitment to the poorest.

"I think the PSDB suffers from corruption, there's no hiding that, it's obvious. It suffers like the other parties. We've reached a point that's very bad, where people think all parties are corrupt. The PSDB, too. The PT may have benefited from this. The PT had its first setback with corruption, but I think today there's a generalized image of corruption. Even small parties, which think they're outside of it, I think they're mistaken. Go talk to the people at the grassroots level, I don't know if people see that such and such party is outside of it," said Coelho.

"This selective stance of the parties regarding corruption within the PMDB and PT during these government transitions has left everyone in the same boat. I don't know if there's a specific sentiment towards the PSDB. But perhaps it missed the opportunity to differentiate itself. If it had chosen to maintain the same critical line it had during Dilma's period, even with party members accused, it could have distinguished itself. When it divides itself and fails to take a position, it ends up in the same boat. But I don't think there's anything specific about corruption against the PSDB. Corruption exists in all parties, including the PSDB, that's a fact. And I think that's how people are seeing it," stated the PSDB member.

The congressman from Recife expresses concern about Jair Bolsonaro's candidacy, which is "growing a lot and growing fast." He admits that his preferred candidate for the presidency from his party is Geraldo Alckmin. "I think Doria isn't ready, he doesn't have the experience yet. He needs to go further," he summarized.
