Marconi's Government Plan: What has changed?
Elected promising "the best government of Goiás's lives," Marconi Perillo is now being asked: was it worth it?
Goiás 247 - A year and five months later, and after many dips in waterfalls, the question remains for the voter who chose Marconi Perillo as governor: was it worth it?
Doubts linger. What is the extent of the influence of the group belonging to the racketeer Carlos Augusto Ramos, known as Carlinhos Cachoeira, in the government of Marconi Perillo? According to the PT leader in the Legislative Assembly, Luis Cesar Bueno, "the government of Goiás was divided up by Marconi among those who paid for his campaign."
The recordings in inquiry 340, made by the Federal Police in Operation Monte Carlo, which are located at the STF (Supreme Federal Court), revealed conversations that demonstrate a close relationship between the mastermind from Goiás and the gambling boss from Anápolis:
Carlos Cachoeira: hey.
Unidentified personCarlos?
Carlos CachoeiraYes.
Unidentified personOne moment, please. Governor Marconi is about to speak.
Marconi Perilloleadership.
Carlos CachoeiraHey friend, how's it going?
Marconi PerilloHey, you're throwing a party and not inviting your friends?
Carlos CachoeiraWhat is that?
Marconi Perillo: congratulations.
Carlos CachoeiraEverything alright? Thanks for remembering, Governor.
Marconi Perillo… May God continue to bless you there, giving you health and good fortune.
Carlos CachoeiraAmen, thank you very much!
Marconi PerilloA big hug for you, okay?
Carlos Cachoeira: Thanks. See?
Marconi PerilloI'll talk to Edvaldo so we can schedule a meeting, okay?
Carlos CachoeiraExactly. I'm waiting, okay?
Marconi PerilloIt's already scheduled. Thursday, right?
Carlos CachoeiraYes, it's Thursday. The senator called me, okay? Thanks for the reminder.
Marconi PerilloOkay. Hugs, bye.
As citizens of Goiás became aware of the close ties between Cachoeira's scheme and Senator Demóstenes Torres (former DEM) and Governor Marconi Perillo (PSDB), demonstrations began on social media, such as the hashtag #ForaMarconi on Facebook and street movements, which gathered more than 20 people in three editions in April and May. A Serpes survey conducted with 603 voters in Goiânia and published by the newspaper O Popular on the 8th of this month showed an increase in Governor Marconi Perillo's disapproval rating from 25,8% to 48,9%, meaning that almost 50% of Goiânia residents consider the PSDB government bad (14,4%) or terrible (34,5%).
Adding to this damage is the failure to fulfill campaign promises. Cuts in benefits for public employees (especially teachers), inefficient management, particularly with the deterioration of state highways, lack of investment in basic services such as healthcare, and increased insecurity, with a rise in car and home burglaries and homicides, all contribute to tarnishing the image of the government and the governor.
So that everyone can draw their own conclusions, this blog publishes the Government Plan of the Goiás Quer Mais Coalition, formed by PSDB, DEM, PTB, PT do B, PRB, PSL, PMN, PPS, which helped elect Marconi Perillo to the government of Goiás for the third time in the 2010 elections.
The document is an opportunity to analyze what has been done so far, and to demand fulfillment of the promises made by those who pledged to deliver "the best government of the lives of the people of Goiás."
