São Paulo - At least 400 demonstrators, according to the Military Police, are protesting tonight (26) on Avenida Paulista, towards Paraíso, in São Paulo. The demonstrators are demanding an end to police violence. But the group is divided between those who resorted to vandalism, tagging walls and buildings, vandalizing three bank branches - two Itaú and one Santander - and destroying traffic lights, and those who condemn the acts of vandalism.

The protesters are carrying signs and banners criticizing the governor of Rio de Janeiro, Sérgio Cabral, and the police violence recently recorded in Leblon, a neighborhood in the southern part of the city. The movement does not identify any leaders, but says it is against police violence in the capital of Rio de Janeiro.

The acts of vandalism carried out by a group of masked individuals were condemned by some protesters who advocate for non-violent protests. They shouted for a demonstration without vandalism, and the troublemakers responded: "Without moralizing."
