Number of violent deaths falls 31,4% in March
Data released at a meeting of the "In Defense of Life" program indicate a 31,4% decrease in violent deaths in March, compared to the same month last year. The largest reduction was recorded in the Metropolitan Region of Fortaleza, with 50,6%, followed by the capital city, with 36%.
Ceará 247 - For the second consecutive month, Ceará has shown a reduction in the number of violent deaths - homicides, robberies resulting in death and injuries followed by death. Up to the 29th of this month, deaths decreased by 31,4% throughout the state, compared to March of last year, according to information released by Governor Camilo Santana (PT), at a meeting of the "In Defense of Life" program, held on Tuesday (31).
The numbers follow the performance shown in February of this year, in which the reduction reached 13,5%. So far, the most significant decrease was recorded in the Metropolitan Region, with 50,6%, followed by the Capital, with 36%, the Northern Interior, with 15,3%, and the Southern Interior, with 11,9%. "The positive data and the decrease in the number of victims of violent deaths, at this moment, only strengthens us to fulfill this mission, which is to ensure that the population feels safer. I am increasingly encouraged by the work being done in this government. Therefore, I would like to thank the teams that work daily to ensure public safety in our State. And may my messages be transmitted to all troops," said the governor.
