New overpasses on Tancredo Neves Avenue will be completed by November.
This is what the State Government and the City Hall of Aracaju are promising; the Detran overpass will be completed in 40 days; the Contorno overpass should be ready in November; both projects will be vital to alleviate the chaotic traffic in the region; rain is reportedly delaying both interventions.
Sergipe 247 - The promise from the State and Aracaju City Governments is to deliver the two new mobility projects on Tancredo Neves Avenue this semester. The duplication of the viaduct located in front of the State Department of Transit (Detran) and the underpass connecting the Jardins and Inácio Barbosa neighborhoods will alleviate the traffic congestion, which is so problematic in the area.
With over 85% of the work completed, the Sergipe State Government intends to inaugurate the duplication of the Detran viaduct by the beginning of September. Under construction for a year, traffic congestion in the region becomes even more extensive during peak hours, reaching up to four kilometers in length. Despite workers intensifying their efforts daily, the inauguration had to be rescheduled due to the heavy rains recorded in the Greater Aracaju area over the past 30 days. Last weekend, the pedestrian walkway structure was installed.
The overpass in front of the Contorno Veículos dealership is expected to be completed in November. This is the promise of the Municipal Works and Urbanization Company (Emurb). The project will also include the expansion of alternative mobility spaces through the construction of a bike path. According to the president of Emurb, Luiz Durval, the progress of the work is on schedule.
