Goiás247 - Acting Governor José Eliton swore in the new presidents of the Goiana Housing Agency (Agehab), Luiz Stival, and the Goiana Sports and Leisure Agency (Agel), Ruy Rocha, this Thursday, the 9th, at the Pedro Ludovico Teixeira Palace in Goiânia. "The challenges ahead will be great," said the governor, congratulating the newly appointed officials.
According to José Eliton, Agel plays an important role in "social development, in improving living conditions, especially for young people." In addition to the actions carried out by Agel in the field of professional sports, Eliton pointed out that the agency's reach is even greater. "It is necessary to bring sports to every corner of this state. Through sports facilities, through promoting the activity to put young people on a healthy path of intellectual and physical development," he observed.
Citing the works at the new Sports Excellence Center in Goiânia, José Eliton announced that the Serra Dourada Stadium will soon undergo a major renovation as well. "These are joint actions of a state that cares about its people."
To the new president of Agehab, Luiz Stival, former mayor of Nova Veneza and former president of the Goiana Association of Municipalities (AGM), Eliton recalled how difficult the mission he is undertaking is. “When we talk about housing, we talk about dignity, respect, and valuing the institution of the family. Agehab has a fundamental role in this process of providing security, especially to the most needy families, to have a home.”
Agehab reaches the milestone of 60 homes being built throughout the state of Goiás in partnership with the Federal Government and Caixa Econômica Federal. "It's the largest volume of housing investments in Brazil," said José Eliton.
Grateful for the invitation, the new presidents declared themselves prepared for the new job. “I want to say that I will repay all the trust placed in me by working responsibly and entrepreneurially,” said the president of Agehab, Luiz Stival. Ruy Rocha thanked Governor Marconi Perillo and Vice-Governor José Eliton for the opportunity to be part of this government. “I feel at home in this sports environment. It gives me great pleasure to be able to share this experience with the Government of Goiás.”
