Tevez saga: Corinthians denies agreement.

In an official statement, the São Paulo club says it is still analyzing the proposal sent by Manchester City for the Argentinian player.

247 – Corinthians issued an official statement this morning informing about the progress of the Carlos Tevez negotiations. The club denied reports that an agreement had already been reached between the Argentine player and Timão, as published by English newspapers today. According to the statement, Manchester City rejected Corinthians' offer of R$ 90 million, sending a counter-proposal, which came to the attention of the board this morning. The English club demanded changes to the payment method and also to the total value of the transaction.

The expectation of the São Paulo club – which will analyze the counter-proposal – is that the transfer will be finalized this Monday. A meeting in Manchester is scheduled to settle the last details of the negotiation.

"In light of the news published throughout the night reporting an agreement between Corinthians and striker Carlos Tevez, president Andrés Sanches wishes to publicly clarify that Manchester City did not accept Corinthians' offer for the player."

In fact, the club sent Corinthians a counter-proposal this morning, which, due to the time difference, only reached the Corinthians board this morning. In the counter-proposal, the English club requests changes to the payment method and the total value of the transaction. Furthermore, Manchester City also insists that Tevez waive an outstanding amount owed to the English club.

Finally, President Andrés Sanches states that there is nothing concrete regarding Tevez at this time and that the counter-proposal will be analyzed by him and his board.
