Sergipe 247 - The PSC gubernatorial candidate, Eduardo Amorim, visited the Sergipe Emergency Hospital (Huse) yesterday, where he recorded footage for his election campaign. There, in front of the cameras, he stated that he supports the 30-hour work week project for nurses and reiterated his promise to organize a task force to reduce overcrowding at the unit.

"I will value and respect all employees of the Hospital Foundations of Health. If you give me the honor of governing the State, I will put into practice the 'Lifesaver' operation, where I will call upon doctors and nurses to remove people from the corridors so they can be effectively attended to and cared for," he said.

“Among the tasks to be carried out in a concentrated effort, a specific working group will be responsible for purchasing medicines and consumables, renovations, repairs and maintenance of equipment, mobilizing staff to normalize all public service provision, and implementing the electronic registration system for regulating existing elective surgery requests,” Eduardo stated.

This Thursday, the 11th, Eduardo Amorim (PSC), candidate for governor of Sergipe, heard pleas and supplications from patients at the Sergipe Emergency Hospital (HUSE) to improve the state's healthcare. Eduardo was in the vicinity of HUSE to record part of his campaign program and took the opportunity to talk to the sick and their relatives.

Gileno Batista Dantas, from Laranjeiras, pleaded with Eduardo Amorim to save the life of his daughter, Adriana Batista Santos Dantas, 37 years old. Adriana needs intestinal surgery and is having difficulty getting treatment at the Sergipe Emergency Hospital. Gileno says he is apprehensive and afraid of losing his daughter. “The specialist has already observed her problem. I came yesterday for surgery, which is urgent, and the procedure hasn't been done yet. She is in a lot of pain and vomiting a lot,” he said.

“A doctor came yesterday and was performing a procedure, but it wasn't possible to continue. She was supposed to come today, and no one has arrived yet. It's been about four or five days since we paid for all the private exams, and the specialist has already handed them over to the surgeon to perform the procedure,” explains Gileno, while requesting expedited surgery for his family member.

The clinical director of HUSE, Dr. Marcos Kroger, spoke about the high number of people arriving for treatment and requested publicity for these issues. “Due to the hospital's overcrowding problems and other routine healthcare issues, we, the doctors, duly represented by the clinical director along with family members of hospitalized patients, request the presence of the press and candidate Eduardo Amorim so that he can see firsthand the situation at the hospital and discuss his proposals to improve this situation experienced by all of us here,” stated Kroger.

In front of the state's largest hospital, Eduardo recorded statements regarding his conduct in relation to the health sector in Sergipe, which will be broadcast to all Sergipe residents. "I am here to tell you the truth about my conduct with the health of this state. I am in favor of a 30-hour work week for nursing professionals, technicians, and nursing assistants, yes," said the candidate.

“I made a statement in the Senate in favor of the category's struggle. Unlike what malicious adversaries are spreading, I am in favor of implementing this work schedule. Without well-trained healthcare professionals, with adequate working hours and dignified remuneration, there is no healthcare system that effectively functions, neither here nor anywhere else in the world,” Amorim recalled.

The candidate also spoke about some proposals he will implement if elected by the people on October 5th. “I will value and respect all employees of the Hospital Foundations of Health. If you give me the honor of governing the State, I will put into practice Operation 'Lifesaver,' where I will call upon doctors and nurses to remove people from the corridors so they can be effectively attended to and cared for,” he guaranteed.
