Cantareira System level rises 19,8%

With no rain in the last 24 hours, the Cantareira System showed a slight increase in stored water volume, reaching 194,8 billion liters available for supply in the metropolitan region of São Paulo; the level calculated based on the usable volume (water above the gates) increased from 19,7% to 19,8%, and, considering the current use of the dead volume (water below the gates), this amount is equivalent to 15,3% of the operating capacity.

With no rain from yesterday (9) to today (10), the Cantareira System showed a slight increase in the volume of stored water, reaching 194,8 billion liters available for supply in the metropolitan region of São Paulo.

The level calculated based on the useful volume (water above the gates) increased from 19,7% to 19,8% and, if the current use of the dead volume (water below the gates) is considered, this amount is equivalent to 15,3% of the operating capacity. Yesterday (9), the rate remained stable.

The data comes from the São Paulo State Basic Sanitation Company (Sabesp), which manages, in addition to the Cantareira system, five other water supply sources. The level of the Rio Claro System also increased (from 45,3% to 45,4%), while the others experienced two decreases and two stable levels.

In Alto Tietê, the rate went from 22,3% to 22,2% and in Alto Cotia, it fell again from 65,2% to 65%. In the Guarapiranga Reservoir, the level remained at 84,1%, the same as recorded yesterday (9) and, in the Rio Grande, stability was maintained at 97%.
