247 - The new board of directors of the Sergipe State Youth Council was sworn in this Friday (22). The ceremony took place in the meeting room of the State Secretariat for Social Inclusion. The new president of the board is the representative of civil society, Nicolas Antunes, a social movement activist, who began his career in the secondary school student movement. The vice-presidency was occupied by Amandy Felix.

The new president said that he "will honor the exercise of his mandate, fighting for advancements in youth policies."

"This is a very special moment, and I dedicate this achievement to my family and friends. I thank the council members who believed in and trusted the project I advocate for the Council and elected me, making the project and the council belong to everyone. I will honor this opportunity every day, carrying out a great term, fighting tirelessly for the advancement of public youth policy, certain that together with the other council members we will carry out fruitful work for the benefit of young people in Sergipe," he stated.

The State Youth Council was established in the State by a bill authored by State Representative Conceição Vieira (PT). It is composed equally of representatives from civil society and the government, and its purpose is to promote the full development of Sergipe's youth, through the oversight and formulation of public youth policy.

Nicolas Antunes currently represents Afro-Brazilian religious organizations on the Council, specifically in the area of ​​religion. Amandy Feliz represents the State Secretariat for Culture.
