MADRID, Aug 7 (Reuters) - Forward Neymar scored his first goal for Barcelona on Wednesday in a friendly match where his new team beat Thailand 7-1 in Bangkok.

The player, who left Santos in a transfer worth 57 million euros, opened the scoring in the 11th minute, finishing off a pass from Cesc Fàbregas in front of a crowd of 48.000 spectators.

The Brazilian started the match in a three-man attacking line, which also included Argentine Lionel Messi, who scored two goals, and Spaniard Pedro, who scored three.

"Friendlies like this help me see different possibilities, variations, but clearly the idea is for him (Neymar) to progress," said Barça's new coach, Gerardo 'Tata' Martino, in a press conference.

"He has improved since the match against Santos," he added.

"The relationship between the two (Messi and Neymar) is what stands out the most. They clicked well, scored goals, but also got along well with the rest of the players."

Chilean Alexis, in good form, scored Barcelona's seventh goal after coming on as a substitute in the second half.

Thailand's goal was scored by striker Teerasil Dangda from a penalty kick shortly before halftime.

On Wednesday, several press reports stated that Barça had made an official offer for Chelsea's Brazilian defender David Luiz.

"I'm in Thailand, I don't know anything about any negotiations," Martino said when questioned about interest in David Luiz.
