Neymar leads Barcelona to the Champions League semi-finals.
The Brazilian striker scored twice against Paris St Germain (PSG) on Tuesday, leading Barcelona to the Champions League semi-finals for the seventh time in the last eight seasons.
BARCELONA (Reuters) - Neymar scored twice as Barcelona reached the Champions League semi-finals for the seventh time in the last eight seasons, comfortably beating Paris St Germain (PSG) 2-0 on Tuesday to complete a resounding 5-1 aggregate victory.
The Camp Nou crowd erupted in the 14th minute with Neymar's first goal, as he evaded goalkeeper Salvatore Sirigu and rolled the ball into the net after a pass from midfielder Andres Iniesta, who had dribbled past three opponents.
PSG offered little resistance, while Barça dominated midfield and extended their lead when Neymar headed in a perfect cross from Daniel Alves in the 34th minute.
Barça eased off in the second half and simply managed the victory, keeping them on track to repeat their 2009 success.
"We did the same thing we did in Paris, we went out and played our game and scored the goals we needed," Neymar said in an interview with Spanish television station TVE. "I think we're in good form, in the Champions League, in La Liga, and I hope we can continue in the same way."
PSG were without the injured Thiago Motta and Thiago Silva, but had striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Marco Verratti back from suspension.
Defender David Luiz, who had a terrible performance in the first game, received a yellow card just three minutes into the game after a reckless foul on Ivan Rakitic.
Barça didn't intend to rest on their 3-1 advantage from the first leg and scored a magical first goal, with Iniesta as the architect and Neymar as the executioner.
Ibrahimovic had a goal correctly disallowed for offside in a rare attack by the French club before Barça doubled their lead.
