MP-GO_ Adailton Alves Ferreira, brother of the advisor to the Court of Auditors of the State of Goiás, Milton Alves Ferreira, informed prosecutor Marlene Nunes Freitas Bueno of his resignation from the position of advisor on accounting, financial, legal and budgetary matters of the body.

The initiative was taken within the timeframe granted in a recommendation issued by the Public Prosecutor's Office. The document highlights the prohibition of nepotism under the 1988 Federal Constitution, pointing out the Court of Auditors' failure to observe this prohibition and constitutional principles.

Prosecutor Marlene Nunes opened an investigation in May of this year to look into suspected cases of nepotism at the TCE (Court of Accounts), requesting that appointed officials and council members provide reasons and explanations regarding the retention of employees who are allegedly relatives of council members.
