"I didn't go around saying I was a candidate for governor."

Running for Senate on the PT-PP-PSD ticket, Vice Governor Otto Alencar (PSD) took a jab at his opponent Geddel Vieira Lima (PMDB), who is running for the opposition (DEM-PMDB-PSDB), in an interview with Tudo FM radio this Tuesday; "I didn't say I was running for governor and then run for the Senate," said Otto, in a clear reference to Geddel, who tried to make his name viable in the race for the Palácio de Ondina (Governor's Palace), but was unsuccessful.

Bahia 247 - Candidate for the Senate on the PT-PP-PSD ticket, vice governor Otto Alencar (PSD) took a jab at his opponent Geddel Vieira Lima (PMDB), who is running for the opposition team (DEM-PMDB-PSDB), in an interview with Tudo FM radio this Tuesday (29).

"I didn't go around saying I was a candidate for governor and then run for the Senate," said Otto, in a clear reference to Geddel, who tried to make his name viable in the race for the Palácio de Ondina (Governor's Palace), but was unsuccessful.

In a self-assessment, Otto said that his time as governor, vice-governor, and three times Secretary of State made him "see the difficulty the Executive branch has" in performing its duties.

"With determination, hard work, and constant struggle, I want to help my state and the municipalities, but for that, a better distribution of tax revenue is needed."

Otto is right when he says that Geddel wanted to be a candidate for governor, but it's worth remembering that he also said he had no intention of being a senator. However, during the pre-election period, the former Carlist vice-governor reiterated his discourse of being available to Jaques Wagner's group.

If elected, Otto stated that he intends to fight for tax, political, and criminal procedure code reforms, as well as to advocate for more resources for the state of Bahia and its municipalities.
