Reuters - Lewis Hamilton secured pole position on Saturday for the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, which will decide the Formula 1 world championship, while his teammate and title favorite, Nico Rosberg, will start second on Sunday.

Rosberg has a 12-point lead and will be champion if he finishes the race in the top three, regardless of the position of the other drivers.

Hamilton, who has 61 pole positions in his career, needs to reach the podium to have a chance of becoming the first Briton to win the world championship four times.

Both drivers have won nine times this season.

Australian Daniel Ricciardo will start third and will share the grid with the 2007 champion, Kimi Raikkonen, of Red Bull.
