Three games that started at 19:30 pm (Brasília time) opened the 12th round of the Brazilian Championship Series A this Wednesday (29). Two of these matches were direct confrontations for the G-4 of the competition. Of the four teams involved in this situation, Flamengo and Grêmio came out on top. Rubro-Negro beat Internacional 1-0, and Imortal overcame Santos 3-2. In the other match at that time, Vitória defeated Sport 3-2.

At the Kleber Andrade stadium in Cariacica (ES), Flamengo took advantage of the support of the fans, who filled the stadium, to open the scoring in the 18th minute. After a scramble in the area, Guerrero challenged in the air, and the ball fell to Ederson who pushed it into the back of the net. In the second half, Internacional only managed a good attack in the 15th minute, with Vitinho, but Flamengo continued to create more chances and, even without scoring again, managed to control the result and secure the victory. The Rio de Janeiro club reached 20 points and is in fifth place. Internacional has the same number of points and is in fourth place.

In the other direct clash for a top-four finish of the night, Grêmio and Santos played a truly spectacular match at the Gaúchos' arena. Grêmio opened the scoring just two minutes in, with Giuliano capitalizing on a rebound after a shot by Everton. Towards the end of the first half, in the 44th minute, the team extended their lead in a play very similar to the first goal. Everton made a good run down the left and shot across goal. Vanderlei parried the shot, and this time Douglas was there to put the rebound in the net. In the second half, Santos pulled one back in the 19th minute. Lucas Lima took a corner from the left, Gustavo Henrique flicked it on, and Copete, making his debut that night, headed it into the empty net. Then, in the 37th minute, the São Paulo team equalized with a fantastic goal. After a midfield battle, the ball fell to Zeca, who controlled it and powerfully shot into the right corner, giving the opposing goalkeeper no chance. With the match heading towards a draw, in the 43rd minute, full-back Marcelo Hermes stole the ball in midfield, exchanged passes with Giuliano, and slotted it past Vanderlei to secure the victory for Porto Alegre's Tricolor, who reached 21 points and moved into third place. Santos, with 19 points, dropped to sixth place.

At Barradão stadium, Vitória and Sport also played a very exciting match with five goals. In this clash of red-and-black teams, the Bahia club came out on top, winning 3-2. Despite the defeat, it was the Lion of Ilha do Retiro (Sport) who took the lead. In the 17th minute, defender Matheus Ferraz received a long pass, controlled it with his chest, and unleashed a beautiful shot: a fantastic goal. The home team equalized in the 44th minute. Vander took advantage of a great pass from full-back Diego Renan and found the net. Vitória took the lead with Euller in the second half, in the 16th minute. Willian Farias made a beautiful long pass, the full-back controlled it with his chest, and scored another goal. The third came two minutes later. Striker Nickson rose higher than everyone else in the area and headed the ball beautifully past goalkeeper Agenor. Towards the end, at 32 minutes, Matheus Ferraz scored another for Sport, appearing well in the area and turning past the defenders, but there was no longer enough strength to avoid defeat. With the result, the Bahia team reached 16 points and moved up to 12th place. The Pernambuco team is in 17th place, with 12 points.
