Municipalities in Ceará carry out actions for the Yellow May Movement.
The movement in Ceará was initiated by the State Traffic Department (Detran-CE) on the 7th of this month, with actions to draw attention to the importance of traffic safety. Many municipalities in the state carried out activities throughout this month. Until the end of May, other educational actions will be promoted, such as lectures, walks, games, activities, and theater, with the participation of the community and municipal schools.
Ceara 247 Following the success of other movements, such as "Pink October" and "Blue November," which respectively address the issues of breast and prostate cancer, "Yellow May" encourages you to promote activities aimed at raising awareness, fostering broad discussion of responsibilities, and assessing the risks associated with each citizen's behavior during their daily commutes.

The purpose of the movement is coordinated action between public authorities and civil society to put the issue of road safety on the agenda and, more than just drawing society's attention to the high rates of deaths, injuries, and permanent disabilities in traffic in the country and the world.

The Brazilian Association of Traffic Education (ABETRAN) is holding several Multiplier Workshops for Traffic and Citizenship Education throughout this month. In Ceará, the training is aimed at teachers from public and private schools, and some places may be reserved for educators from formal and informal settings working in the municipalities where the workshops are taking place. Participants are nominated and pre-registered by the education department or the traffic authority of each municipality included in the initiative.
