Brazilian Federal Prosecutor's Office: Mayor of Aracaju could be arrested for violating electoral law.
The Regional Electoral Prosecutor's Office in Sergipe (PRE/SE) has filed charges against the mayor of Aracaju, João Alves Filho, for failing to provide information to the Electoral Court. He, who holds the position of president of the Regional Directorate of the DEM party in Sergipe, was notified to report whether the party had paid R$17.729,70 as ordered by the Court, related to the disapproval of the party's financial statements in 2009.
