The Public Prosecutor's Office will request the suspension of contracts from the Chamber of Deputies.
Councilman Djalma Araújo filed a complaint with prosecutor Fernando Krebs regarding contracts totaling approximately R$ 300 signed between the City Council and pest control companies. The prosecutor has already stated that there are indications of overpricing and cited as an example the amount spent by the Public Prosecutor's Office itself for cleaning its building (R$ 14), which is twice as much as the City Council's expenses. This is yet another chapter in the dispute between Djalma and the president of the Council, Clécio Alves.
Goiás 247_ The Goiás State Public Prosecutor's Office (MP-GO) will request – following a complaint filed by councilman Djalma Araújo (SDD) – through a public civil action, the suspension of contracts for sanitization and pest control of the premises of the Goiânia City Council.
According to Djalma, the contracts show strong evidence of overpricing and possible misappropriation of public funds. "If proven, the overpricing could reach 1.000%."
Contracts were signed with the companies Ecofort Soluções Ambientais, for R$ 134, for pest control services. And another with the company W&E Serviços Técnicos for R$ 159 to kill fleas on pigeons.
Prosecutor Fernando Krebs, who received the complaint, informed that the contracts from the last two years will be investigated. A survey conducted by the prosecutor's office shows that the average cost for pest control services would be R$ 0,50 per square meter.
In this case, according to him, the cost would be around R$ 7, reaching up to R$ 14, twice a year.
For the same service, as the prosecutor had already informed, the Public Prosecutor's Office pays around R$ 14 - and the Public Prosecutor's Office building is more than twice the size of the City Council.
