São Paulo's Public Prosecutor's Office files charges against three for prejudice against people from the Northeast of Brazil.

In the messages, the accused EGF, LCSB, and CCBS made comments such as "We have to value the culture of São Paulo and not these flat-headed people" and "If they want to exalt the Northeast, they should parade there and not in my city, which is called São Paulo, the capital of the state of São Paulo." According to prosecutor Ludgero Francisco Sabella, the terms "indicate discrimination practiced by the defendants in relation to the precedence and settlement of people from the Northeast of Brazil in the city of São Paulo."

In compliance with a court order, the providers of e-mail They had to provide the identities of the account holders who sent the messages. One of them is part of a separatist community called the São Paulo Republic Movement.

Based on the Racial Crime Law, those accused could be sentenced to up to three years in prison. The Public Prosecutor's Office, according to its press office, expects the Court to decide this week on whether to accept the complaint, filed last Wednesday (3).
