Public Prosecutor's Office sues Aécio for premature campaigning.
According to Deputy Attorney General for Electoral Affairs, Sandra Cureau, the "Programa do Ratinho" program, broadcast by SBT on May 23rd, made explicit references to the candidacy of the PSDB leader and praised his personal characteristics, thus unbalancing the competition between the candidates. The prosecutor is requesting a fine of up to R$ 25 be imposed on Aécio, the presenter Carlos Massa, and SBT.

Brasilia – The Public Prosecutor's Office filed a complaint with the Superior Electoral Court (TSE) against Senator Aécio Neves (PSDB-MG) for premature electoral campaigning for the presidency of the Republic. According to the Deputy Attorney General for Electoral Affairs, Sandra Cureau, the events occurred during the Ratinho Program broadcast by SBT on May 23.
According to Cureau, the program made explicit references to Aécio's candidacy and praised his personal characteristics, unbalancing the competition between the candidates. The prosecutor is requesting that Aécio, the presenter Carlos Massa, and SBT be fined a maximum of R$ 25.
The Deputy Attorney General for Electoral Affairs reports that the lengthy, exclusive interview with the pre-candidate anticipated the electoral debate, which is only expected to begin in July of next year.
