Goiás247_ Governor Marconi Perillo received confirmation this Thursday, the 31st, from the Minister of Transport, Paulo Sérgio Passos, regarding the resumption of work on the North-South Railway. Marconi had a busy schedule in Brasília, visiting three ministries: Transport, Mines and Energy, and Cities.
For the meeting with the Minister of Transport, the governor brought up priority issues, highlighting the resumption of work on the North-South railway, the completion of works on BR-060, BR-070 and BR-080 highways, as well as the change in the route of BR-153 within the urban perimeter of Goiânia. Marconi also discussed with the minister the construction of three locks at the Cachoeira Dourada, São Simão and Itumbiara (Emborcação) hydroelectric plants, which would allow for the improvement and consolidation of the Paranaíba-Paraná-Tietê waterway, connecting Goiás to the Port of Santos (SP).
Regarding the North-South Railway, the minister assured that the obstacles that existed last year – legal issues related to expropriations, environmental permits, and the completion of executive projects – have been overcome. According to Marconi, the Minister of Transport is scheduled to go to Goiânia next Tuesday for a meeting with the railway's construction companies, where he will discuss the timeline for resuming the works.
The minister also guaranteed that the TCU's (Federal Court of Accounts) questions regarding the price of the sleepers and the bidding process for the stretch between the Anápolis tunnel and the Porto Seco yard would be resolved. In addition to representatives of the state government, the meeting will also include the presidents of the National Department of Transport Infrastructure (DNIT), João José dos Santos, of Valec, Josias Sampaio Cavalcante Júnior, the company responsible for the construction of the North-South railway, and the Regional Superintendent of DNIT, Riumar dos Santos.
The governor also discussed with the minister the change in the route of the BR-153 highway within the urban perimeter of Goiânia. Marconi reported to Sérgio Passos that the highway has become a large avenue with a high volume of traffic passing through the capital. The minister assured him that the project is included in a schedule of priorities delivered to President Dilma Rousseff.
The Goiânia Bypass project would involve joint actions by the federal, state, and municipal governments. Regarding the federal highways (BRs), the state government is working towards the completion of the BR-060 (Goiânia-Jataí) duplication project, and the completion of a 25-kilometer stretch of the BR-070, which passes through Itaguari and Cocalzinho—a highway conceived during the Juscelino Kubitschek administration and connecting Brasília to Cuiabá. Marconi also sought information regarding the BR-080 project, which connects the BR-153 to Luis Alves.
Finally, the governor discussed with the Minister of Transport the construction works for the Paranaíba-Paraná-Tietê waterway, which requires the construction of locks at hydroelectric plants in Goiás. The minister presented the governor with a complete report of the R$ 90 million investment plan.
Marconi concluded his agenda in Brasília with meetings at the Ministries of Mines and Energy and Cities.
