The Public Prosecutor's Office will investigate the sale of Delta.

An investigation opened this Wednesday will look into the details of the sale of Delta Construções to the holding company J&F, owner of the JBS meatpacking company, which has 31,4% of its shares controlled by BNDES; Delta is one of the largest contractors under the PAC (Growth Acceleration Program) and is on the verge of being deemed ineligible.

Agency Brazil – The sale of Delta Construções to the J&F Participações group, owner of the JBS meatpacking company, which has 31,4% of its shares controlled by the National Bank for Economic and Social Development (BNDES), will be investigated by the Federal Public Prosecutor's Office in Rio de Janeiro. Prosecutor Edson Abdon Peixoto Filho opened a public civil inquiry at the request of the regional prosecutor of the Republic, Nívio de Freitas Silva Filho.

The request was made last Wednesday (9) by means of an official letter to the Attorney General's Office in the capital of Rio de Janeiro. The regional prosecutor wants to investigate the sale of the construction company to find out if there are irregularities in the deal. Delta is the target of allegations of fraud, corruption and overpricing.

Prosecutor Edson Abdon has already sent official letters to those involved in the sale of Delta Construções to the J&F Participações group. The prosecutor also sent an official letter to the Comptroller General of the Union (CGU) and the Federal Court of Accounts (TCU).
