Sergipe 247 - In an assembly held this Monday (25), the teachers of the state network decided to maintain the strike, even with the injunction that determined the illegality of the stoppage. With this position, the Union of Education Workers in the State of Sergipe (Sintese) may pay a fine of R$ 10 per day for disobeying the injunction. The president of the union, Ângela Melo, stated that the union tax could be used to support the strike. "It is regrettable that Mr. José dos Anjos, who was once a teacher in the public network, issued this injunction without having heard both sides," criticized the Sintese leader.
This Tuesday (26), the strikers will hold a demonstration in front of the Sergipe Court of Justice. The demonstration aims to file a document with the Court, requesting the judge to review his decision to declare the strike illegal and the return to classes. At the same event, Sintese will deliver a dossier to all magistrates, showing the precarious situation of schools in the state education network.
The teachers have been on strike since the 18th of this month, demanding that the State Government pay the 13,01% salary increase for all career levels.
