Former Finance Minister and MDB candidate for President of the Republic, Henrique Meirelles from Goiás surprised in the Vox Populi/Diário da Manhã poll published this Wednesday (8); Meirelles appeared in the survey with 9% of the voting intentions of voters in Goiás and is third in the race for the Planalto Palace, ahead of Ciro Gomes (PDT), Geraldo Alckmin (PSDB) and Fernando Haddad (PT)
Goiás 247 - Former Finance Minister and MDB candidate for President of the Republic, Henrique Meirelles from Goiás surprised in the Vox Populi/Diário da Manhã poll published this Wednesday (8).
Meirelles appeared in the survey with 9% of the voting intentions of voters in Goiás and is in third place in the race for the Palácio do Planalto, ahead of Ciro Gomes (PDT), Geraldo Alckmin (PSDB) and Fernando Haddad (PT).
The data comes from a prompted survey, in which each of the 500 voters interviewed was presented with a card listing the names of the presidential candidates.
Federal deputy Jair Bolsonaro (PSL) is in first place with 23%, and former senator Marina Silva (Rede) is in second place with 12%. Those who said they will not vote for anyone, will vote blank, or will cast a null vote total 18%. Those who did not know or did not answer represent 19%.
In the spontaneous poll, Henrique Meirelles shares fourth place with fellow former minister Ciro Gomes (PDT) – each of them has 2%. Bolsonaro appears in first place, with 18%; followed by former president Lula (PT), with 16%; and Marina Silva, with 3%.
The survey was conducted between July 21 and 25, a period prior to the conventions that formalized coalitions and candidacies this past weekend.
