More than one hundred thousand foreign doctors are expected to participate in the medical diploma revalidation exams; the exams will be held this weekend, August 3rd and 4th, at the Pampulha campus of the Federal University of Minas Gerais.

On the first day, the exam will begin at 18 PM, and it is expected to last four hours. On the second day, the exams will start at 14 PM, and candidates will have five hours to answer the questions.
According to UFMG, this stage consists of theoretical tests of general knowledge in the areas of public health, obstetrics and gynecology, pediatrics, and clinical medicine. In total, there will be 140 multiple-choice questions and five essay questions.
According to the newspaper Hoje em Dia, the president of the Permanent Commission for the Revalidation of Medical Diplomas Obtained Abroad (CPRDM), Professor André Cabral, said that the university in Minas Gerais has had a revalidation process for decades with the aim of improving the registration and selection processes, which requires candidates to have greater aptitude for the practice of the profession.
