MDA: In Minas Gerais, Aécio has 41% and Dilma, 32%.
A survey by MDA, commissioned by the newspaper Estado de Minas and released this Sunday, August 10th, indicates that the PSDB presidential candidate Aécio Neves has 41,8% of the voting intentions, compared to 32,5% for President Dilma Rousseff; the PSB candidate, Eduardo Campos, appears with 5,4%; the margin of error is 2,2% plus or minus; in the spontaneous poll, Aécio has 27,4% of the voting intentions, compared to 26,3% for Dilma and 2,2% for Eduardo Campos; among Minas Gerais residents, a positive evaluation of the Dilma government reaches 34,5%, compared to 23,9% negative evaluation; the survey was conducted between August 3rd and 7th, with 2.002 people.
Minas 247 - A poll of voting intentions for the presidential election in Minas Gerais, commissioned by Estado de Minas and released this Sunday, the 10th, shows the PSDB presidential candidate, Senator Aécio Neves, in first place with 41,8% of the vote intentions. President Dilma Rousseff, of the PT, appears in second place with 32,5%. In third place is the PSB candidate, Eduardo Campos, with 5,4% of the vote intentions. Pastor Everaldo (PSC) has 1,2%. Other candidates reached 1,4%.
Blank and null votes totaled 6,3%, and undecided voters reached 11,3%. The margin of error for the survey is 2,2% plus or minus. President Dilma performed better in the spontaneous survey, when the candidates' names are not presented, according to the MDA survey. Aécio has 27,4% of voting intentions, compared to 26,3% for Dilma and 2,2% for Eduardo Campos. Those undecided or intending to annul their vote or leave it blank total 42,1%.
According to the MDA survey, Aécio Neves would defeat President Dilma in Minas Gerais in a possible second round, with 46,6% of the vote compared to Dilma's 36,1%. Blank or null votes represent 8,2% of the options, and 9,1% did not know or did not answer. In a second scenario, against Eduardo Campos, Dilma would defeat the Pernambuco native by a score of 44,9% to 28,8%. In this case, 12,9% of voters would cast blank, null, or no votes, and 13,4% did not know or did not answer.
MDA/EM Data also sought to find out what voters think of Dilma's government. In Minas Gerais, positive ratings totaled 34,5% and negative ratings were at 23,9%.
According to Marcelo Souza, director of MDA and responsible for the research, Aécio's result in Minas Gerais is due to the aftermath of his two terms as governor of the state. "Aécio has a good lead over Dilma, which is basically a reflection of the good evaluation of his administration among the people of Minas Gerais. I imagine that, for him, it will be good to widen this gap, and perhaps this could happen when voters pay more attention and give more importance to the campaign," he assesses.
The survey was conducted between August 3rd and 7th, with 2.002 people, divided into 10 regions based on population density. The survey is registered under number BR 00324/2014.
