Marta may run for office under the PSB-PSDB banner.

Following a series of public criticisms of the PT (Workers' Party) and the Dilma government, Senator Marta Suplicy may join the PSB (Brazilian Socialist Party) and form a ticket with the PSDB (Brazilian Social Democracy Party) to run for mayor of São Paulo in 2016, against the current PT mayor Fernando Haddad; negotiations are being led by the state's vice-governor, the socialist Márcio França, with the approval of Governor Geraldo Alckmin (PSDB).

247 Senator Marta Suplicy is reportedly close to finalizing her affiliation with the PSB party in order to run for mayor of São Paulo on a ticket allied with the PSDB party.

Her desire to run for office in 2016 was revealed in an interview in which the former minister launched criticisms against the PT (Workers' Party) and the Dilma government.

His initial intention was to run for office with the PMDB party. However, after Gabriel Chalita was appointed as Fernando Haddad's secretary, the party sealed a pact for a single-party platform in the election.
