In 2014, Bolsonaro stated that Maria do Rosário did not deserve to be raped because he considered her "too ugly." For the same statement, the congressman is a defendant in the Supreme Federal Court (STF).
"There are two lawsuits against him in the Supreme Federal Court for stating that there are women who deserve to be raped," said Maria do Rosário. "I have never defended Champinha or any rapist. Neither those from the dictatorship that he defended on that program, saying that he would repeat their crimes, nor those of today. This is the cloak under which he hides for using abominable words against women. But he will pay. With defeat and in court," she added.
"I will not remain silent in the face of hatred. I defend human rights, I worked for the truth commission. I defend children, women, LGBT people, Black people, Indigenous people, people with disabilities, the poor, the landless, the homeless, and I approved important laws for Brazil. And this guy, what did he do? Nothing."
