In an interview with Rádio Sagres 730, on Friday morning (27), former governor Marconi Perillo stated that he has been talking with governor José Eliton with all parties to form the best ticket for the allied base; he highlighted that it is very likely that José Eliton's vice-governor candidate will be one of the names that are at the center of discussions; he considered, however, that it must be someone who is in tune with the governor; “There is also the issue of the PP, the PRB, PR. Goiás 247 - In an interview with Rádio Sagres 730, on Friday morning (27), former governor Marconi Perillo stated that he has been talking with governor José Eliton with all parties to form the best ticket for the allied base. He highlighted that it is very likely that the candidate for vice-governor of José Eliton will be one of the names that are at the center of the discussions; he considered, however, that it must be someone who is in tune with the governor. “There is also the issue of the PP, the PRB, PR. As a result of the conversations we will have and are having, we will close the ticket,” he said.
Marconi also highlighted that what weighed heavily in the Democratic Center's choice of Geraldo Alckmin as its presidential candidate was the balance and experience of the former governor of São Paulo. “Geraldo managed to govern São Paulo four times with absolute fiscal balance, accounts rigorously up-to-date; he made great progress in strategic areas such as Security, Education, and Health. São Paulo is a model in infrastructure, so I think all of that weighed heavily in the decision. Brazil cannot have an unbalanced, inexperienced president who is unable to unite the country's democratic forces in the pursuit of a future that puts the country back on track, with jobs, income, development, and investments,” he assessed.

Support from the Democratic Center for Alckmin
Everyone worked to secure the support of the Democratic Center over the last two months. The PT wanted the PR, Bolsonaro also wanted the PR. Ciro met with him several times seeking support, as did Álvaro Dias. We did a lot of work over the last 30 days, a lot of conversation, a lot of dialogue, discretion. But I think what weighed most heavily was Geraldo Alckmin's balance, his experience and, above all, the challenges we will face in Brazil going forward.
Administrative capacity of the former governor
Geraldo managed to govern São Paulo four times with absolute fiscal balance, with accounts rigorously up-to-date; he made great progress in strategic areas such as Security, Education, and Health. São Paulo is a model in infrastructure, so I think all of that weighed heavily in the decision. Brazil cannot have an unbalanced, inexperienced president who is unable to unite the country's democratic forces in the pursuit of a future that puts the country back on track, with jobs, income, development, and investment.
New horizon in the campaign for the presidency.
All of this weighed heavily, and the fact is that we've achieved a new turning point in Alckmin's campaign from now on with such significant support. Geraldo will have the most television time, he'll have time to present his government program and his economic program.
Vice-presidential candidate for the PSDB party
They are discussing several names. Each party has suggested a name. But it is up to the Democratic Center to debate this issue internally, to try to find a consensus, and they have already designated the president of the DEM, ACM Neto, to discuss this matter with Alckmin. I imagine that in the coming days – the deadline is August 4th – we will have a defined name that can add value and bring people together. A new name may emerge. Many people are suggesting Aldo Rebelo. Others are suggesting women's names. In short, it is an issue that will have to be debated between the center parties and the presidential candidate, who is the one who has to accept or not a name to be his running mate and, eventually, his government partner.
Conversations with the MDB
The MDB has a candidate, it's Henrique Meirelles. And if there's one thing we've decided, it's not to interfere in the internal decisions of other parties, especially parties that have presidential candidates. I suggested Meirelles in the past, when he wasn't yet a presidential candidate. I suggested him, and if I had to do it again, I would do it again.
Formation of José Eliton's ticket
The governor and I have been talking with the parties that have traditionally always been in our camp. I hope that by the beginning of next week we will have made progress in forming the entire ticket. We already have indications of the candidates for governor and senator, and we are now working to complete the rest of the ticket. It is very likely that the names will be those that are being mentioned, but there is also the issue of the PP. We are waiting for Minister Baldy to arrive so we can sit down with him.
Articulations within the PRB
There are also important names in the PRB and PR parties. The result of the conversations we're having, and will have, is that we'll finalize the ticket. Of course, the vice-presidential candidate also has to be someone aligned with the governor, as was the case with me and José Eliton. We're in talks. Congressman João Campos has always been on our side, always a comrade of ours, and we'll continue talking with him.
Creation of a council of political parties.
Geraldo also called me to tell me of his absolute confidence in my work. I even have little time for that, I'm juggling Brazil and Goiás. In any case, the suggestion I gave to presidential candidate Geraldo Alckmin today is that, starting after the convention, he should be the president of a council of governors, and each party that will form the alliance should nominate a candidate.
