Marconi requests support from the National Force in Luziânia.

To reinforce the actions of the State Secretariat of Public Security in the area surrounding the Federal District, Governor Marconi Perillo requested support from the National Security Force from the Minister of Justice and Citizenship, Alexandre de Moraes, in actions to combat crime in the municipality of Luziânia. Marconi justifies that the support is necessary given the increase in the number of burglaries, robberies, homicides with brutal characteristics, as well as the recent cases of attacks on banking institutions, which place the population in a situation of constant risk.

Goiás 247 - To reinforce the actions of the State Secretariat for Public Security and Penitentiary Administration (SSPAP) in the region surrounding the Federal District, Governor Marconi Perillo requested this Friday (February 3rd) from the Minister of Justice and Citizenship, Alexandre de Moraes, the support of the National Security Force in actions to combat crime in the municipality of Luziânia.

In official letter number 160/2017, issued by the Governor's Office on Thursday (February 2nd) and delivered this Friday to the Minister of Justice and Citizenship, Marconi justifies that the support is necessary in view of the increase in the number of burglaries, robberies, homicides with brutal characteristics, as well as the recent cases of attacks on banking institutions, which put the population in a situation of constant risk.

The Government of Goiás has been allocating approximately 12,5% of the State's Annual Budget to policies aimed at combating and preventing crime, a figure surpassed only by that spent on education programs. Violence rates have been declining throughout the state, but, according to the request sent to Minister Alexandre de Moraes, the municipality of Luziânia requires special attention due to the atypical situation of increased crime observed there.

The Ministry of Justice and Citizenship has made the National Security Force available to the states to support and complement public policies to combat and prevent violence. The national crisis in public security has worsened at the beginning of this year in several states of the country with the outbreak of prison riots. In Goiás, the situation in the prison system is within normal limits.
