Goiás 247 - Governor Marconi Perillo delivered 38 new vehicles and equipment to the Goiás State Military Fire Department (CBMGO) this Wednesday afternoon, the 29th, in a ceremony at Praça do Trabalhador, in Goiânia. Marconi said he has witnessed the growth of the Corporation since he first took office as governor of Goiás. “I saw this Corporation turn things around when we took over. We increased personnel, equipment, salaries, and working conditions. Thanks to this work, the Fire Department is now the best structured and equipped in the country.”

He thanked the Fire Department Commander, Colonel Carlos Helbingen Júnior, for his efforts and stated that the organization's joint work with the state government is essential to serving the people of Goiás. "And we haven't finished our mission yet. We will continue to support and provide working conditions for these guardian angels."

The new vehicles and equipment will strengthen the response to victims of fires and accidents throughout the state. The investment totals R$ 5,9 million. Nineteen cities in Goiás will receive the new vehicles. In the last four years, the government of Goiás has invested more than R$ 30 million in materials and equipment for the Military Fire Department.

“We are very grateful, because these men and women who are here have witnessed, in the not-too-distant past, sad working conditions. All of that has changed. Thanks to the entrepreneurship of this government, and to the strength and determination of these women and men,” said Colonel Helbingen.

The new vehicles will be used for pre-hospital rescue, firefighting, land rescue, and personnel transport, in addition to 750 proximity suits and 10 extrication tools, which are essential equipment in incidents involving accident victims trapped in wreckage. The government's project is to re-equip all units of the Corporation.
