Goiás247 - Governor Marconi Perillo once again dissociated the services, works, and everything else under his administration from the responsibilities of the Goiânia City Hall. Running for re-election, Marconi was applauded as soon as he arrived at a meeting with residents of Jardim Novo Mundo, in the eastern part of the capital, on Saturday night. Residents, child welfare councilors, students, city councilors, and neighborhood leaders participated in the political event and listened to the governor's proposals for the areas of health, education, and security.

Marconi also spoke about public transportation. “We want to extend the Anhanguera Axis line to the municipality of Senador Canedo and we will put more buses on the line to serve users and relieve congestion at the Jardim Novo Mundo terminal,” he said, also mentioning the project that will extend the Axis vehicles to Goianira and citing the subsidy granted by the state government, which covers 50% of the fare for users of this line.

Regarding public transportation, Marconi made a point of listing other commitments made during his administration that have moved from planning to implementation, such as the Student Free Pass and the ICMS tax exemption on diesel for buses in the Goiânia Metropolitan Region's public transportation system. “We have been doing our part. We have invested and worked to improve transportation in the capital. What is within the state government's purview is being done. And when we discuss the topic, we talk about real things, about feasible projects, without the demagogic rhetoric our opponents use, promising to 'solve everything in six months',” said the governor.

New World

Specifically addressing the residents of Jardim Novo Mundo and surrounding areas, Marconi also spoke about projects that will be implemented to benefit everyone living in this region, such as the construction of a bike path to Senador Canedo. He also mentioned what has already been done there during his administration, such as renovations of state schools, increased street policing, and the replacement of patrol cars circulating in the neighborhood. "And this week we already have 568 more police officers spread throughout the streets of Goiânia," he announced. He then said that the Public Security Secretariat will arrange for the purchase of 500 more surveillance cameras to reinforce security.

When discussing the duplication of highways in Goiás, he cited projects that directly impact residents of Jardim Novo Mundo, such as the duplication of the road to Bela Vista and the project for a similar project on the road from Jardim das Oliveiras to Bonfinópolis.

"Goiás has never grown and developed as rapidly as it is now, being recognized in Brazil as a great, rich, and prosperous state with a hardworking population. With our re-election, everything that has been achieved so far will remain. And the pace will be even faster; it's full throttle," said Marconi, to much applause.
