Tocantins 247 - The governor-elect of Tocantins, Marcelo Miranda (PMDB), will participate this Tuesday, the 7th, at 10 am, in Brasília, in a meeting convened by President Dilma Rousseff with the governors and governors-elect who are part of her allied base. The event is expected to discuss the strategy that the government leadership and its marketing team are preparing to face the electoral process in the second round of the presidential election.
President Dilma Rousseff, who received 41,59% of the vote in Brazil, secured the support of 50,98% of the electorate in Tocantins. "Tocantins has established itself as a legitimate point of dialogue with Dilma Rousseff and her campaign staff, demonstrating that, despite being a small state in terms of electoral density, we have loyal allies here who worked hard and collaboratively for the president's re-election," said Miranda.
The PMDB member believes that in the second round, the president will face the great challenge of explaining more clearly to the electorate not only her achievements and those of her predecessor, President Lula, but also the changes she plans to effectively implement.
The governor-elect of Tocantins also emphasized that in addition to Senator Kátia Abreu (PMDB) being re-elected, six of the eight elected federal deputies support President Dilma, and that it will now be necessary for everyone to join forces with the mayor of Colinas do Tocantins, José Santana, who is coordinating the re-election campaign in the state, and other supporters, so that the vote will be much more significant in this second round.
"When I was governor, President Lula was a staunch partner of Tocantins from the very beginning. I am certain that in my third term, President Dilma will also be helping us to carry out the projects for change that we have for the state, projects that will require a partnership sealed based on hard work and a sustainable developmental vision," concluded Miranda.
