Marcelo and governors fine-tune their speeches for meeting with Dilma.

Before the meeting with President Dilma Rousseff, which is taking place this afternoon at the Planalto Palace, state governors, including Governor Marcelo Miranda (PMDB), met for lunch to refine the discourse to be defined in the meeting with President Dilma Rousseff, scheduled for this afternoon at the Alvorada Palace; one of the most important topics of the meeting is the ICMS reform, mainly regarding how the states' losses will be compensated; "There are a series of issues that unite all the states and the federal government. Tocantins 247 - Governors who are part of the allied base, including the governor of Tocantins, Marcelo Miranda (PMDB), along with those sympathetic to understandings and agreements in favor of solutions for the federal government, met for lunch in Brasília (DF). The purpose is to refine the discourse to be defined in a meeting with President Dilma Rousseff, scheduled for this afternoon at the Planalto Palace.

The coordinator of the meeting, the governor of Minas Gerais, Fernando Pimentel, explained that the intention is to hear from representatives of all regions so that a common agenda can be discussed with the President of the Republic. "There are a number of issues that unite all the states and the federal government. That's what we're seeking, a consensus among us," commented the governor.

For the governor of Piauí, Wellington Dias (PT), one of the most important topics of the meeting is the reform of the Tax on the Circulation of Goods and Services (ICMS). The issue divides states, especially those that will lose revenue. In these cases, the concern is how the losses will be compensated. "In the case of the ICMS, the proposal submitted by Confaz has the support of the Brazilian states. We hope to find an environment in Congress for the approval of the resolution and the laws that create the funds," explained Dias.

Present were the governors of the states of Bahia, Rui Costa (PT); Rio de Janeiro, Luiz Fernando Pezão (PMDB); Maranhão, Flávio Dino (PCdoB); Pernambuco, Paulo Câmara (PSB); Rio Grande do Sul, José Ivo Sartori (PMDB); Ceará, Camilo Santana (PT); Paraíba, Ricardo Coutinho (PSB); Piauí, Wellington Dias (PT); Rio Grande do Norte, Robinson Faria (PSD); Santa Catarina, Raimundo Colombo (PSD); Alagoas, Ranan Filho (PMDB); Sergipe, Jackson Barreto (PMDB); Amazonas, José Melo (Pros); Rondônia, Confúcio Moura (PMDB); Roraima, Suely Campos (PP); and Amapá, Waldez Góes (PDT).

In the meeting with President Dilma, the main proposal is to seal a governance pact, viewed positively by Governor Marcelo Miranda. According to him, it is a measure of joint work and responsibility with the federal government.
