São Paulo – Three days before the decision on whether or not pastor and congressman Marco Feliciano (PSC-SP) will remain in charge of the Human Rights and Minorities Commission of the Chamber of Deputies, another protest that took place today (23), on Avenida Paulista, reinforced the rejection of the parliamentarian.

Since the religious leader made prejudiced comments against homosexuals and blacks through social media, several segments of society have been advocating for his removal from the presidency of the commission. The president of the Chamber, Henrique Eduardo Alves (PMDB-RN), who, on the 20th, appealed for the deputy to resign from the position, must make a decision on the case by next Tuesday (26).

As a way of mocking the parliamentarian's conduct, a small group of gays and supporters of the cause gathered, at the end of the afternoon today (23), in the Kiss-in of Repudiation, an act organized through Facebook. The demonstration, at the corner of Avenida Paulista and Rua da Consolação, near the central region, was organized by historian Augusto Patrini, 32 years old.

"With this act, we want to show that love between two people – regardless of gender – is a beautiful thing and has nothing shameful about it, contrary to what Congressman Feliciano preaches," said Patrini. "He is a racist and homophobic person and cannot be on a Human Rights committee," he added.
