At approximately 0:20 AM, on Waldir Soeiro Emrich Avenue, in the Castanheira neighborhood, in the Barreiro region of the capital city, the driver of bus line 342 (Barreiro Station / Solar via Diamante Station) stopped to let passengers off. A group of people with gasoline canisters and armed ordered everyone to get off. An 18-year-old woman, a 19-year-old man, and a 27-year-old man were detained, along with six teenagers, four aged 16 and one aged 17.

In an alley, police detained a 20-year-old man, a 47-year-old man, and three teenagers aged 14, 15, and 17. The group said that a 14-year-old girl helped them by signaling for a bus. She was arrested at her home. The criminals said they committed the crime because of the death of a gang member.
