Two more buses were set on fire in the metropolitan region of Belo Horizonte, one in the capital and the other in Contagem; the Military Police (PM) detained 15 people; this brings the total number of vehicles burned in BH in 2017 to 11, the highest number recorded in the same year since 2010, according to the Union of Passenger Transport Companies of Belo Horizonte (Setra-BH); in a note seized by the police, the criminals stated the cause of the crime: "It's because of the oppression in the Bicas II system. At approximately 0:20 AM, on Waldir Soeiro Emrich Avenue, in the Castanheira neighborhood, in the Barreiro region of the capital city, the driver of bus line 342 (Barreiro Station / Solar via Diamante Station) stopped to let passengers off. A group of people with gasoline canisters and armed ordered everyone to get off. An 18-year-old woman, a 19-year-old man, and a 27-year-old man were detained, along with six teenagers, four aged 16 and one aged 17.

In a note seized by the police, the criminals pointed out the cause of the crime. "It's because of the oppression in the Bicas II system. We want improvement as quickly as possible, otherwise there will be death inside and outside. And fuck the State. Signed the crime" - the first bus to be burned was on Sunday night (12), in Belo Horizonte, on Via 240, in the Monte Azul neighborhood, in the North Region. According to the PM, the attack by seven criminals was a protest against mistreatment suffered by an accomplice who was arrested.

On Tuesday night (14), around 20:40 pm, it was the turn of the bus on line 101 (Nacional), in Contagem. When the group was fleeing, the PM arrived at the scene and chased the criminals. One of them fired shots at the military, who returned fire.

In an alley, police detained a 20-year-old man, a 47-year-old man, and three teenagers aged 14, 15, and 17. The group said that a 14-year-old girl helped them by signaling for a bus. She was arrested at her home. The criminals said they committed the crime because of the death of a gang member.
