247 - The national president of the PSDB, Senator Aécio Neves (MG), endorsed, this Wednesday (11), in Brasília, the affiliation of the coach and former volleyball player of the Brazilian national team, Giovane Gávio, who was accompanied by the president of the PSDB of Minas Gerais, federal deputy Marcus Pestana. Gávio is yet another sportsman to join the PSDB, which is betting on celebrities to achieve good electoral results.
Originally from Juiz de Fora (MG), Giovane had been working as a coach for the SESI volleyball team in São Paulo. This is the first time the athlete, a two-time Olympic champion, has joined a political party. He was enthusiastic about being received by the national president of the PSDB, Aécio Neves, whom he admires. “I kept my membership form. It will be my lucky charm. I am a Mineiro by birth and heart. I am very proud of my homeland and have great admiration for Aécio,” he said.
