More strain: Comurg continues with exorbitant salaries.
Paulo Garcia is accumulating yet another setback in his administration; the city hall is unable to eliminate privileges for employees of the cleaning company because the Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) governing the employment relationship of Comurg employees is valid until 2015; employees are unwilling to change the text; "It's a complicated matter. We are dealing with the acquired rights of the employees," says the union president. In August, the scandal of super-salaries broke out, where some employees, with incorporations and bonuses, were receiving up to R$ 45 per month.
Goiás 247_ The privileges enjoyed by employees of Comurg, the Urbanization Company of Goiânia, continue. This is shown in a report by journalist Thaís Romão in the newspaper O Popular, published this Monday. The scandal of excessive salaries came to light in August, but so far almost nothing has been done to prevent incorporations and overtime from raising original salaries of R$ 2 to around R$ 50. This is yet another setback for Mayor Paulo Garcia (PT), who at the time ordered the reduction of excessive salaries, establishing a salary cap of R$ 19 per month, the mayor's own earnings.
To resolve the impasse, the Union of Employees of Cleaning and Conservation Companies (Seacons) needs to amend the text that regulates the labor relations of employees. Some workers, of course, do not want to lose their privileges – a report by O Popular in August revealed that one employee received as much as R$ 80 in a single month.
The president of Seacons, Cirilo das Mercês, admits that it is difficult to change the text. “It’s a complicated matter. We are dealing with the acquired rights of the employees,” he tells the newspaper O Popular. The union has been trying to hold an assembly for a long time, but it has never materialized.
Absurd
Some points in the Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) that governs Comurg's relationship with its employees are truly absurd. They tolerate delays of up to 1 hour and 30 minutes in an employee's arrival at work.
Comurg employees can also incorporate bonuses even if they are received from other agencies or union entities, while on leave. This incorporation can be combined with another bonus.
The collective bargaining agreement is valid until 2015, and until then, employees are guaranteed the benefits contained in the text.
